You know how today we create our own word hybrids (Brangelina?? Kimye??) instead of sticking to the words that exist in the Queen’s Dictionary? (Hey, I know I’m an American, but stay with me here). Anyway, for fun, I decided to do a few design-related word hybrids myself for this week’s blog post. I will present the word, its definition and then use it in a sentence.
Design-aholic. Somebody with too many accessories at their place and with too much time on their hands. “Design-aholics need a support group and meetings.”
Décor-whelmed. The state of being so overwhelmed with choices in a design project that you can’t make a decision. “Girl, you are décor-whelmed and need to chillax.”
Des-aggravated. The state of being pissed at your significant other because he won’t green light a design project you want to do. “You are des-aggravated.”
Décor-torious. The state of having your significant other finally green light a design project you’ve been lobbying to do for a while. “Because you had great sex with your spouse last night, this morning you are décor-torious.”
Design-ucation. Gaining needed design knowledge and decorating street smarts so you can get better design results that you have ever gotten before. “Check out The Decorating Genius System if you want to get the perfect Design-ucation to take your decorating results to the next level! Click this link: www.TheInteriorDesignAdvocate.com/decorating-genius-system.” (That was décor-sneaky of me, no?)
PS….leave a comment below with your own design hybrids!
