For most, the term “man-cave” elicits thoughts of dark colors and over-sized leather upholstery. This month, we drew inspiration from one of the most stylish men of fiction, Don Draper, to help us prove that a man cave can be masculine without looking like a college dorm room.
To start, we selected a grey tailored sofa, reminiscent of Draper’s impeccable office attire, and paired it with a classic Eames Lounge Chair to provide plenty of seating for game day company. A sleek yet sturdy media piece sits across the room, adding extra storage for movies and music. To illuminate the space, a handsome gold fixture hangs overhead while a black metal floor lamp provides additional reading light. Thirsty for one of Don Draper’s signature cocktails? A walnut bar cart allows one to store and serve all of your favorite triple malts while a striking glass-top cocktail table provides the perfect place for one to set down your drink. Finishing off the space with a pop of color, a large abstract painting hangs over the sofa while a burnt orange rug covers the floor.
All the comfort of a man-cave with twice the style! Don Draper would be proud.
