Hey there! If you love color, or you’re concerned about color, or you’d like to take a little bit of a deeper dive in color, in this video, I’m going to be sharing with you how you can use color in a more innovative way.
So when it comes to color, we, professional designers know, that it is a glorious tool to be able to use interesting and innovative ways throughout a room to give you that million dollar look. So let’s dive right in, and I’ll show you a couple of great tips and tricks that you should steal and here are some great picture examples of them.
So let’s take a look. Here’s an easy-flourished in this dining room on any dining chair or you can do this on bars, tools in the kitchen. Just have a back upholster in a splash color or even in a pattern. Really great look! Usually doesn’t add a lot on the dollar’s side.
Here’s an example of putting a border on a rug. Wow does that do a lot in the room! Also, think about bordering a furniture piece or even a pillow with a contrasting welt. See that navy blue cord that runs around those sofas, that’s called an accent welt or a contrasting accent welt.
Here’s a great example at taking a color, in this case, deep, inky navy and putting it into the banding at top of a piece of drapery. It doesn’t add a lot of cost, really easy to do. Another great color move in this room is doing a color on your lamp base. Oh my gosh! Is that great high end look. Steal these tips.
And here’s a great example of a big bang for the buck, low cost flourished paint in existing piece of furniture, a vivid, punch color that’s important in a room and put into a really fabulous high gloss, and you will love the results!
The thing to remember about color is that it is dynamic. It does something in a space. It grabs the eye, leads the eye so use it to your advantage and you will not be sorry.
