Fresh floral arrangements are an excellent way to add major style to any holiday party (or, just a regular night at home for that matter😉) To take your floral arrangements to the next level, follow my 3 easy tips below.Â
ColorÂ
Let’s start with color. Do you want this arrangement to compliment your space or provide a striking contrast? To compliment, go with blooms in a similar hue to an accent color already seen in your space, or, go classic with an all-white arrangement.Â
To contrast, have fun with whatever’s seasonal! Yellow sunflowers, red roses, you-name-it! Don’t be afraid to ask the florist for some guidance if you need to.
Width & HeightÂ
Next, you should consider is the width and height of the floral arrangements. You need to strike the right balance if you want your arrangement to large enough to make an impact without becoming a distraction.Â
A good rule of thumb to follow is for the height of the arrangement to be at least 1 ½ times higher than the height of the container. For smaller vases, you should be aiming for 1 ½ times the height of the vase and 2 times the width.Â
Vessel
Last but not least, the vessel! For entryways, don’t be afraid to go with something taller to add some drama. For a dining table, go low so your guests aren’t craning to see each other. On a sideboard or serving table, the choice is yours! Next, consider material. The safest choice is to stick with clear glass, but don’t be afraid to experiment! White ceramic, stone, mercury glass, even metal containers can add real style to any arrangement.Â
And there you have it! Three tips to create fresh, festive arrangements for this season and beyond.Â
