It’s that time of year again – pencils are being sharpened, backpacks are neatly packed and new shoes are eagerly awaiting their “first day” debut…It’s BACK TO SCHOOL season!!! Start the year off with a clean slate and give your little one’s room a little fresh update while you’re at it!
There are countless ways to give an existing space a dose of fun, without breaking the bank or requiring expensive permanent changes. Recognizing how quickly their growing tastes can change, you can make some minor updates that will have a big impact. Read on for some of our suggestions below!
WALL ART

Nothing provides instant gratification like new art! With thousands upon thousands of emerging artists who are as accessible as your closest keyboard, the art world is your oyster. We fell in love with these 3D wall pieces that not only add beautiful pops of color but loads of texture and reflection as well!
Framed 3D floral walls can be fun for a little lady…. And updating a young man’s walls could be as easy as grabbing their closest souvenir baseball or newspaper clipping and having them framed in a shadowbox. Personalizing the wall art is so much fun! Does your child have a favorite stuffed animal that they have outgrown, but are not willing to part with permanently? Shadowbox it! Are they into building and creating with Legos? Make a scene with little Lego people – hot glue them to the backing of a standard frame and make some cheeky “art”! Your child will love participating in creating their “new” surroundings.
FRESH PAINT

Nothing makes a major change while at the same time requiring minimal effort and expense quite like a fresh coat of paint. Get creative! Create an interesting pattern using painters’ tape! Paint the insets of bookcases! Add some detail to the ceiling! The options are endless….and easily reversed when the chosen color or design has run its course.
PEEL AND STICK TEMPORARY WALLCOVERING

The miraculous wonders of peel and stick wallpaper have FLOURISHED these past few years! Long-gone are the days of messy wallpaper paste…not to mention the labor of reversing the process, and for that, we are FOREVER grateful. Peel-and-stick wallpaper allow for grace in application and can be removed with zero residue; it’s a no-brainer when you want to add some major interest! Some use the peel-and-stick wallcovering as originally intented – to cover the walls. Others use it to line drawers and shelves or to add framing detailing around photo gallery installations. It is a fantastic resource to offer big bang, for little buck!
NEON SIGNAGE

If your child is entering the tween or teen stage, most likely you have noticed how popular “neon” lighting has become! This new found popularity has flooded the market with much more affordable options. Simply add a “POW” to a space with one or two nails and plug it in!
All of these quick adaptations are not in the least bit truculent or consuming to overcome, so be bold, be fearless and HAVE FUN with your design choices!!!
